AuSable River Semi-Primitive Area
The AuSable River Semi-Primitive Non-Motorized Area is a 12 mile segment along the AuSable River that has been designated for special management guidelines preserving a more primitive setting than the surrounding Huron-Manistee National Forest lands.
Directions: At the west end of the River Road Scenic Byway – 22 miles west of Oscoda along M-65, turn north on Rollway Road. A half mile past the South Branch River, turn right onto Curtisville Road and go about three miles. Parking is available at the mid-point access site near Hoppy Creek.
